The Divisions
Illiana hosts a number of different divisions. The S4 Motorsports team races in the Limited Late Model Division a division which is unique to Illiana Motor Speedway. The Limited Late Model Division was designed as a more affordable alternative to their Super Late Model Division. Unlike the Super Late Model's, this division places more emphasis on chasis setup and driving skill.

Brief History
One of the oldest short tracks in the Midwest, the 51 acres of land between Rohrman Park and U.S. 30 occupied by the Illiana Motor Speedway served as an air field in the 1940s. The half-mile track was opened by Harry and Signe Molenaar in 1947, when it was called Harry's Half Mile and fans paid to see motorcycles circle a dirt track. Before the addition of stock car racing to the venue, the track officially changed it's name to Lucky Wheels Bike Club.

The first actual stock car season was in 1950. The cars raced on the dirt track for some 11 years before it was finally turned into asphalt in 1961.

Current
The 2008 Season also brings a new look to the Illiana Motor Speedway. After the 2007 Season Illiana began work on replacing the old grandstands with new aluminum stands. This will help the provide a more comfortable atmosphere for the existing fans and patrons of Illiana Motor Speedway. In the near future it may also help provide comfortable seating for fireworks shows and concerts that Mike Mikuly hopes to bring to the area at his track.
